MidWinter Finished
Gee, I've never done so many winter paintings! Doing this one feels like 3 extra paintings. It coincides with the extra snow we've had lately. It's been renamed Time of the Sandhill Cranes. Can you see the cranes? At the Wheeler Refuge they meet together on the land areas that were planted in corn. This frozen pond/backwater doesn't seem to be where they like to congregate.

The ice and the reflections are done beautifully. But I'm sorry, I didn't see the cranes right away.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy sketching; I don't know why I don't do more?!
ReplyDeleteI am so envious of your effortless brushstroke.
ReplyDeleteThe light/shadow, tones and contrast are compelling. Snow in Alabama led to an excellent and worthy painting experience for you.
ReplyDeleteYour recent paintings are wonderful, Robin--I have really enjoyed browsing your blog, as always. You have had a productive year and should feel pleased with your body of work. I think your snow paintings are lovely and would have guessed (if I didn't know where you live and work) that you observed and painted snowy landscapes often. Impressive!
