Entertaining Artists

Meet Richard (Little Richard, that is).  I'm in Aiken, SC taking a workshop from the talented Booth Malone sponsored by the American Academy of Equine Art. We are honing painting skills on horses.   Our wonderful hostess brought us some entertainment INTO her studio this morning.  Enter Richard the Shetland pony.

Richard is a ham, as you can see.   We tried to sketch quickly, but everyone soon grabbed cameras to catch his antics.

Richard, like a dog, is finding a place to sit down.........

You can see Richard is assisted by the Corgi Ruffles.

he finds a place to sit with us, and "mom" has a treat for him...

And he stands up and says hello...

....and he takes a paintbrush and paints!

Back to the workshop - some of you know artists  might not do the best work because of the learning curve we want to grasp.    Here is the start of mine - I wiped half of it off and redrew the left side of these Clydesdales.   More to come........

  1. Your workshop looks like so much fun! And it looks like "Little Richard" stole the show! Thank you for posting these fabulous photos. Now I have to work on my lad, to see if I can get him to "sit". Bye for now.
