SUMMER OF COWS, part 2

Ok, here is the finished view for 2 of the recently started cow paintings.

The white cows took much longer to finish, for some reason.

They took so much mental effort, that I painted something totally different to get me focused again:

These guys are still in the "summer" theme. Around here there are so many competition fishers in glitzy irridescent metallic bass boats, that it was refreshing to see this rusty old boat giving the same satisfaction to its' inhabitants. I think it didn't even have a motor.

SUMMER OF COWS

These are the beginnings of my latest series of cows. I always seem to have cow paintings. You get to see the start of these and form an opinion if they're successful.

The first one will be white cows. I've passed a farm with a large herd, and finally got the opportunity to catch them moving out of the shadows and into the tall amber grass.

The second one of black cows in the stream I noticed in Tennessee this spring. It was just as the leaves on the trees came out.

The third painting was seen just recently. Most of this mixed herd was in the sun, but a few were under the deep shadow of trees, and I hope to catch the spots of sunlight reavealing them in the shadows. Hope is the operative word.! I'll post the finished paintings by next week.

IN MY BACKYARD

How lucky I am. We have 2 of the most beautiful hydrangeas right in our backyard, and they are even bigger than usual this year. So I headed out while it was breezy this morning about 8am, and this is what I saw........

The pine trees made sunlight weave in and out. All in all, it was a very nice morning.

The one on the left is big purplish and flat shaped. Maybe it's a hybrid. The one on the right is the typical "grandmother style" hydrangea of pale blue round shaped blossoms.
