A RARE DAY

11x14 Old Oak on the Backwater, Gadsden Al; oil on linen panel,   $495 framed in gold.   email robinroberts4@gmail.com   for purchase

I hope you were able to enjoy the weekend - here in Alabama the weather has been outstanding.  The Alabama Plein Air Painters were hosted by Craig Reynolds and Gina Brown of Gadsden.  We could have painted any number of places in this city surrounded by water.  The James Martin Wildlife Park has a loooooong boardwalk right by the mall.  Perfect for us painters. It was fun trying to untangle the old growth and make a simple composition here.

  4. This is a stunning painting, Robin! Your love for your home area truly shows. And you certainly succeeded in your goal to simplify the view and to create a pleasing composition. Brilliant! I also love your previous post and the flower stall painting. It's amazing that you did all this from a photo without having been there because the result has such depth and vitality. Thank you for describing your process on that one.

Hey, Robin...I was cleaning my desk this week and found a note that made me think I never shipped your book....did you get the "Last Year on the Farm" book?
    Happy Thanksgiving
