GOOD YEAR FOR HYDRANGEAS

That wet cold spring was good for these flowers. We visited the old General Wheeler home, now called Pond Spring, and I found this vase at the gift shop.  It resembles some of the china collection at the home of General Joe Wheeler and his equally famous daughter Annie.     The old plantation has undergone renovations to the house and outbuildings.   Tours are available and it's an interesting slice of history.

I have about 40 - 50 paintings for you to enjoy at Mountain Valley Art Center in Guntersville Al.   It makes a nice day to eat at Wentzels on the river and see the exhibit.
